Leyton Sixth Form College applauds those students receiving their examination results today and the considerable achievement that these represent.

This year, A Level results nationally are lower than in previous years as they shift back to 2019 outcomes. Whilst this has obviously had an impact on our students, we are delighted that almost two thirds of this year’s leavers were awarded top A*, A and B grades or the vocational equivalent. These achievements are testimony to the determination and hard work of students and the dedication and support of staff.

Principal Gill Burbridge said: “These results represent a significant achievement in a context within which grades have fallen nationally and for a year group who were denied the opportunity to sit their final GCSE exams so have had no previous experience of public examinations. We are immensely proud of their achievements and delighted that so many of our students achieved the success they deserve. We have a high number of students progressing to study at top universities, art and drama schools and conservatoires as well as securing competitive apprenticeships and employment.

We are an inclusive College committed to helping students of all educational backgrounds reach their potential and we celebrate each and every individual performance on our academic and vocational programmes. Amongst these wonderful results we are very proud of Rania who has secured a place at the University of Oxford to study Law; Adam and James who are both studying Economics at University College, London and the London School of Economics respectively and Fawziyah who will be studying medicine at King’s College, London. Of the students who have decided to undertake an apprenticeship, Qasim will be taking up a trainee solicitor programme with the Premier League.”
