Outstanding Exam Results 2019
Leyton Sixth Form College is celebrating an excellent set of examination results once again this year with an overall pass rate of 99% at A Level and 100% on vocational and technical courses. 75% of students achieved top A*, A and B grades or the vocational equivalent.
Ofsted success
We were assessed by Ofsted in 2016 and received a glowing ‘Good’ rating with inspectors remarking on the friendly and diverse nature of the institution.
The four Ofsted categories - ‘outcomes for learners’, ‘quality of teaching, learning and assessment’, ‘leadership and management’ and ‘overall effectiveness’- were all deemed ‘good’ and improving. Several features were judged outstanding.
The college was also praised for its supportive, challenging and innovative culture that focuses well on giving students good experiences and raising standards and for the “exemplary” student behaviour that contributes to the “lively college community where equality and diversity are celebrated”.
Investors in People
We were awarded the Gold Champion status Investors in People award in 2014, only achieved by 1% of UK’s businesses. The assessor commented, ‘There is an incredible people culture operating throughout the college, brought about by the Principal and owned by the staff.’
Duke of Edinburgh’s Award
Leyton Sixth Form is the only sixth form college in London to gain their own operating license for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme. The college is only the second Further Education Establishment in London to gain a licence. LSC has been running the award for seven years and has seen a 100% pass rate at gold level and a 98% pass rate at silver level.
