WHAT IS THE COURSE ABOUT?

The Level 2 Award and Diploma in Creative Media Production & Technology will provide students with an introduction to a broad range of creative and technical skills in media production, enabling them to both re-engage with education and acquire the requisite skills, knowledge and understanding to progress to further education and employment within the industry.

DURATION OF COURSE:

1 Year. Grading is through internal assessment and external moderation.  

 

WHAT UNITS/TOPICS WILL BE STUDIED?

You will study 8 units in total within the first year of the course. Unit 1-7 are skills development units, where you will learn about contextual research, practical skills development, research and audiences, audio visual and interactive aspects of the media course. Your final unit 8 is your FMP where you specialise in either film, photography, Journalism, desk top publishing or an interactive element based on the assignment and theme.

WHAT DO I NEED TO STUDY THIS SUBJECT?

You will need a G Score of 18 and a 3 in GCSE English and Maths.

 

WHAT CAN I DO TO PREPARE MYSELF TO STUDY THIS SUBJECT?

Ideally you will have studied GCSE media at School, or show a committed interest and enthusiasm with your own personal media projects to prepare for this subject.
