Robert Kendrick
Chair - Financier
Please tell us a little bit about who you are and what you currently do with your time
I’m a father of three and I work full time in the City. As an investment analyst I am responsible to choosing which companies the funds I help manage lend money to. When I’m not at work my kids take up most of my time, including many wet and windy camping trip up and down the UK.
Please tell us about any education or work experiences which are relevant to your role as a Governor
I attended a sixth form college as a student so I understand from first hand the challenges facing students going through that awkward transition from childhood to adulthood while simultaneously having to navigate a new educational institution. My career has given me the tools to understand and interrogate the college’s financial position.
Please tell us why you wanted to be a Governor for LSC specifically and what you hope to achieve in this role
I moved to the area over twenty years ago for work after university, and feel a strong sense of responsibility to promote the success of the community. Ensuring the college is well governed is a small role I can play to achieve this. The role also gives me a useful real-world insight into governance from the inside of an organisation, which is invaluable in my professional role.
