Carmen Trachenko

Independent Governor

Please tell us a little bit about who you are and what you currently do with your time

I enjoy gardening and bee keeping – both with the help and support of the college and their wonderful facilities. I enjoy socialising, traveling and trying different things, as well as spending time with my two children.

Please tell us about any education or work experiences which are relevant to your role as a Governor

I’ve worked with PwC for the past 9 years and hold degrees in professional communication and psychology. Much of my career has been in organisational change, transformation and communication, public relations, and in the past few years I’ve been leading Business Operations across Corporate Affairs and now Tech Catalyst within the firm. I work closely with leadership across my teams and the wider firm to solve problems, build trust, and promote good business practice and continuous improvement.

Please tell us why you wanted to be a Governor for LSC specifically and what you hope to achieve in this role

As I live locally to the college, I have always taken an interest in the college, its community and facilities. I was inspired to apply for a role as I always found staff and leadership to be friendly, helpful and to set a good example for the students. In the Independent Governor role, I have a chance to use my knowledge and experience in business and governance to give back to the college community, as well as help enrich student life and achievement.
