Adriano Fachini
Academic Staff Governor
Please tell us a little bit about who you are and what you currently do with your time
I like to spend my time in long walks along the canals in East London, travelling and movies.
Please tell us about any education or work experiences which are relevant to your role as a Governor
I have achieved a BSc in Chemistry, followed by a MSc in Chemical Engineering and a PhD in Sciences. During my career as an associate researcher at University of Oporto (Portugal) I could carry on research on the use of asbestos (yes, asbestos can be good!) to accelerate the decay of the active chemical found in washing liquids, thus contributing to an emerging environmental.
Currently I am the Careers and Progression manager at LSC.
Please tell us why you wanted to be a Governor for LSC specifically and what you hope to achieve in this role
As part of the staff body, I am interested in understanding and being part of the decision making process to enhance the students experience and attainment, leading to the success of the college.
