Staff at Leyton Sixth Form College are delighted to be celebrating the results of our amazing students.

Principal Gill Burbridge said: “in what has been another extremely challenging and uncertain year, it is so important that we are able to come together as a community and celebrate the educational performance and achievements of our students. We are an inclusive and ambitious College committed to helping students of all educational backgrounds reach their potential and we celebrate each and every individual’s progress on our academic and vocational programmes. Many of those receiving their grades today are progressing to study at top universities, art and drama schools and conservatoires or to take up competitive apprenticeships or employment opportunities. Amongst these wonderful achievements we are very proud of four of our students who will be taking up their places at either Oxford or Cambridge University. Our fabulous Four are: Betty Hughes (A*A*A* History at the University of Oxford); Raabia Saleem (A*A*A*A Medicine at the University of Oxford); Paige Wedderburn-Bolton (A*A*A English at the University of Oxford); Ibrahim Zamir (A*AA History at the University of Cambridge).

Raabia is not our only medic of the future. Mohammed Uzair Sarfaraz (AAA), Ayesha Undre (AAA) and Saniya Bokhari (A*AA) are also off to study Medicine at Aston, Queen Mary and St. George’s respectively. Michael Smith is also undertaking his degree a St. George’s. Michael is a keen sportsman and completed the L3 Extended Diploma in Sport achieving triple distinction stars (D*D*D*). He is going to study Physiotherapy.

Our talented Mathematicians are continuing their studies at top universities. Matthew Palmer (A*AAB) is off to King’s College to read Computer Science; Jayden Tran (A*A*A*AA) will be progressing to a degree in Design Engineering at Imperial and Muhammad Amaan (A*AAA) is going to read Mathematics at LSE.

Other notable achievements include five vocational science students who have all achieved D*D*D*and are off to study either Biomedical Science (Carina Ca , Baseer Abdel, Amina Nur) or Pharmacy (Nima Oyedeji-Aruna , Kishan Patel). Saima Jannath Islam and Syeda Zainab Islam both studied Health and Social Care and also achieved D*D*D*. They are progressing to City University to do Nursing and Educational Studies respectively. Another student heading for City University is Thuraya Al-Hamdani, she achieved A*A*A and will be studying Psychology.

Gill continued: “These are just a few of the success stories that we are celebrating today. Coupled with another very successful OFSTED inspection last March, they further demonstrate the high quality educational experience that we provide. I would like to acknowledge the hard work and commitment of our expert staff and the excellent teaching, learning and support that they have given throughout.  I am hugely grateful to staff for their perseverance and dedication and the rigour and professionalism they demonstrated in arriving at fair and evidence based TAGs. Our students should rightfully be proud of the grades that they leave us with, confident that they are a reflection of the quality of work that they produced and their knowledge and skills. We wish them continued success and look forward to hearing about their future achievements as LSC alumni.”
