WHAT IS THE COURSE ABOUT?

This exciting course is the equivalent in size to one A-Level and it will provide a broad basis of study in the Applied Psychology sector. It is designed to support progression on to Higher Education. This course is a vocationally delivered programme and it will develop the skills, knowledge and expertise of students in the subject of Psychology. Students will complete both internally and externally assessed units.

 

DURATION OF COURSE:

Two years.

 

WHAT UNITS/TOPICS WILL BE STUDIED?

Units will include Psychological Approaches and Applications, Health Psychology, Conducting Psychological Research, and Sport Psychology. 

 

WHAT DO I NEED TO STUDY THIS SUBJECT?

The entry requirements to study this course are 5 GCSEs including English Language and Maths at grades 4-9 and an overall G score of 30. You should have a genuine interest and enthusiasm for the subject of Psychology.

 

WHAT CAN I DO TO PREPARE MYSELF TO STUDY THIS SUBJECT?

There are a range of exciting textbooks, case studies, and articles that can prepare you for the Applied Psychology Course. Some interesting books you could read include: Reaching down the rabbit hole by Ropper and Burnell and The Power of Habit by Charles Dufuigg.

 

WHERE CAN THIS LEAD ME?

There are a range of degree programmes that you could progress on to. These include;

  • BA (Hons) in Early Years Education
