Learning Resources Area
The Learning Resources Area (LRA) is a self-contained active learning area available to all students. This is the place to come if you wish to read, research or use our extensive range of computer and media resources to help with your chosen course of study.
Not all of your days at College will be spent in a classroom, but that doesn't mean you will not be learning. From now on, you can have a more active role in choosing ways to supplement your lessons and make your chosen subjects more rewarding. By carrying out wider reading, research and independent study, you will not only gain a better understanding of a topic, but also learn new skills – for example, in information retrieval, note taking, time management and use of IT, which will be valuable if you continue your studies at university or in your future career.
The LRA is important in providing you with relevant resources and the right atmosphere in which to study, helping you to make the most of your time at College. Facilities are available throughout the College day and after lesson time. Experienced staff are always on hand to help you.
The Library
The Library has a large stock of resources and benefits from a

Sports
The excellent sports facilities at Leyton Sixth Form College are available to all our students and we run an extensive extra-curricular programme of sport and physical recreation.
Within the last few years the College has won the Essex College Soccer League three times and contested the final of the London Cricket Cup. We have been North London Colleges' Women's Basketball Champions and this year female students have competed in an international karate competition (two winning medals) and reached the last eight of the National Volleyball Championship.
Students from LSC have gone on to pursue a career in sport. Ex-LSC student Tresor LuaLua is making a career for himself in professional football. Tresor played for Colchester United and then signed for Newcastle United for £2.5 million. He has appeared for the Congo national team.
However, the programme is not about winning (although that is nice when it happens). It is about encouraging students to participate and enjoy themselves and also keep fit. Over 700 students participate in the sport and recreation programme each year.
More female students participate every year. Aerobics, football, karate and tae kwondo are becoming more popular and women-only sessions are held regularly in many activities. We also run a Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme.
The College has a partnership arrangement with the local leisure centre allowing students access to the facilities for minimal cost.
Social Areas
The newly refurbished coffee lounge is open until 2:30pm every day for meals and other refreshments. Vegetarian and Halal meals are included on the menu.
All students have access to a large social and private study area next to the coffee lounge. There are also attractive landscaped areas for recreation.
Religious Observance
The College makes every effort to accommodate the multi-faith needs of the student and staff community wherever possible.
