Yang Zhang, ex-Bow School
Yang achieved AAAA in AS level Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Further Maths. He hopes to continue his success in his second year at LSC. Yang said: “I had lots of help from the teachers, and without them all this would not have been possible.”
Mizan Rashid, ex-Swanlea School
Mizan achieved AAAA in AS level Maths, Economics, English Language and History. He will be applying for a degree in Maths or Economics at university. Mizan said: “It’s all thanks to Leyton Sixth Form College! I love being here. The teaching quality is excellent. If you work hard, you can achieve good results.”
Summaiya Undre, ex-Connaught School
Summaiya attained AAABC in AS level Maths, Psychology, Biology, Chemistry and Critical Thinking. She hopes to study optometry or pure mathematics at university. Summaiya said: “Leyton has been great. The staff are friendly and supportive. They help you bridge the gap between school and university in a welcoming and exciting atmosphere.”
Akmol Ali, ex-St Paul’s Way School
Akmol achieved AAAA in AS level Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Maths, and is looking forward to continuing his studies at Leyton next year. Akmol said: “Leyton Sixth Form College was one of the best choices I have made so far. It’s simply great.”
Fariha Makan, ex-Sarah Bonnell School
Fariha attained AAAC in AS level Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Economics. She hopes to go on to study medicine. Fariha said: “I enjoyed my lessons at Leyton – it motivated me to do the very best in my exams.”
Ozge Uysal, ex-Lammas School
Ozge achieved AAA in A level Business, Law and Economics. She will continue with law at university. Ozge said: “My experience at LSC was awesome. Leyton has supportive and experienced teachers who always encourage you to aim higher.”
Christine Kavanagh, ex-Connaught School
Christine attained AAAAB in AS level History, English Literature, Critical Thinking, Psychology and Law. She is looking forward to her second year at LSC. Christine said: "The teaching here is excellent and everyone is really friendly and helpful."
Mehjabin Amodi, ex-Langdon School
Mehjabin attained AABBA in A level Psychology, Biology, Chemistry, Maths and AS Business Studies. She will study medicine at University College London. Mehjabin said: “Leyton has truly been a great experience. From the helpful and supportive staff to the wide range of opportunities available, it strongly encourages personal development.”
Rachel Walsh, ex-Walthamstow Girls’ School
Rachel attained AAB in A level English Literature, Philosophy and Psychology, and will go on to Kingston University to study English Literature. Rachel said: “Leyton’s great teachers are so dedicated to their students, and have been outstanding in their support.”
Tommy Williams, ex-Eastbury School
Tommy attained AAAB in A level Economics, English, Maths and Further Maths, and an A in AS level Critical Thinking. He has secured a place at Oxford University, where he will study Economics and Management. Tommy said: “I came here only expecting to pass, but I exceeded my own expectations. At Leyton you can fulfil your potential.”
Harmander Singh Rattan, ex-Kelmscott School
Harmander attained AAB in A level Mathematics, Psychology and Economics. He goes on to Cass Business School to study Investment and Financial Risk Management. Harmander said: “The teachers are great, very helpful, and will push you to your limits as long as you’re committed.”
Carina Tran, ex-Hackney Free and Parochial School
Carina attained AAB in A level 3-D Design, Photography and Media Studies. She will continue on to the Foundation Degree in Art and Design. Carina said of her time at Leyton: “It’s not over yet!”
Nahida Rashid, ex-Little Ilford School
Nahida attained AAAC in A level English Language and Literature, Government and Politics, Law and AS Maths. She is going to continue her studies in Law at SOAS. Nahida said: “Studying at Leyton has been a great experience, and the teachers have been incredible.”
Tarnil Singh, ex-Langdon Park School
Tarnil achieved AAAA in Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Maths. He will go on to Queen Mary University, London to study medicine. Tarnil said: “Leyton provided a great experience, along with great teachers.”
Shanur Khan, ex-Langdon Park School
Shanur attained ABBBB in A level Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Philosophy and AS Physics. He is going on to study Medicine at King’s College. Shanur said: “Leyton is a great place with great people, and there is always support when you need it.”
Chai-Kiet Lam, ex-Hackney Free and Parochial School
Chai-Kiet attained ABC in A level Economics, Chemistry and Biology. He has a place at SOAS to study Law. Chai-Kiet said: “My time at Leyton has been very enjoyable, and I thank the teachers for helping me achieve good grades.”
Nasra Hussein, ex-Lammas School
Nasra achieved AAAA in Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and History. She is going to the London School of Economics to study Maths and Economics. Nasra said: “At Leyton, the staff always encourage you to do your best. It was a great two years.”
Mandeep Kalsi, ex-George Mitchell School
Mandeep attained AABB in Sociology, Chemistry, Biology and Maths. She is going to train in Pharmacy at the London School of Pharmacy. Mandeep said: “My time at LSC has been brilliant. The teachers have been very supportive and have helped me reach my potential.”
Simon Crowe, ex-Bow Boys’ School
Simon achieved a Distinction in the Foundation Degree in Art and Design. He will go on to a BA in Fine Art at Loughborough University. Simon said: “I’ve found that the staff here show a level of commitment that well exceeds what’s formally expected of them, provided the student shows similar commitment.”
Frank Harris, ex-Anglo-European School, Chelmsford
Frank achieved AAAB in A level Art and Design, Government and Politics, Photography and AS Sociology. He has secured a place at the Slade School, UCL to study Fine Art, despite not having completed a Foundation Degree. Frank said: “I’ve really enjoyed my time at Leyton, the teachers have been really helpful and it’s been a lovely place to hang out and learn stuff.”
Stephanie Amoako-Adofo, ex-Enfield County School
Stephanie attained AAB in A level Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. She is looking forward to her second year at Leyton, and then university. Stephanie said: “My course was very challenging – better than I expected.”
Wahid Mohammed, ex-Henry Compton School
Wahid attained a Triple Merit BTEC National Diploma in Art and Design. He has a place at Hertfordshire University studying special effects model making. Wahid said: “It was a good and challenging three years.”
Rosalyn Munton, ex-Walthamstow Girls School
Rosalyn attained AAAB in A level Maths, Psychology, Spanish and Music. She is headed for Bristol University to study Spanish and Italian. Rosalyn said: “I feel I have received a very good education from all the teachers.”
Keaton Vidal, ex-Leytonstone School
Keaton achieved a Triple Distinction BTEC National Diploma in Art and Design. After his gap year, he will go on to a university course in illustration. Keaton said: “I really enjoyed developing my art skills in a fun, positive and successful college.”
Jehanzeb Ahmed Bhatty, ex-Little Ilford School
Jehanzeb achieved AAAAA in A level Economics, Maths, Chemistry, Urdu and AS Psychology. He will go on to study Economics and Accountancy at City University. Jehanzeb said: “Studying at Leyton has been a truly memorable experience.”
David Rebelo, came from Portugal
David achieved AAAA in A level Maths, Further Maths, Economics and Law, also passing the International English Test in ESOL. He has been accepted by Cambridge University to study Economics. David said: “If you are looking for great teachers, a good learning environment and good university prospects – join Leyton!”
Hansraj Juglall, came from abroad
Hansraj attained a Double Distinction BTEC National Certificate in Business and grade B in A level French. He has a place at South Bank University to study construction management. Hansraj said: “I’ve really enjoyed my time here and the teachers are friendly and always helpful. I would honestly recommend anyone to come here and join in our success.”
Hataf Khan, ex-Newlap School
Hataf achieved AAAA in AS level Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Maths. He intends to go to medical school. Hataf said: “My time at LSC has been great. Friendly students, encouraging teachers and the amazing opportunities make you achieve your full potential.”
