How long is the interview process?
In total you will be here for approximately an hour, depending on the number of applicants attending your session
What happens if I’m running late?
If you are going to be no longer than half an hour later than your appointment time, there is no need to call us, just get here as fast as you can. If you are later than this, it is best to email us and we will rearrange your appointment.
How long until I’m invited for an interview?
We will try to see you for an interview within 8 weeks of receiving your application (this is subject to change, depending on the time of year).
What happens at the interview?
You present your letter to our security staff at the gate, who will direct you toward our main building, where you will wait to enter your presentation (depending on your arrival time).
You hand in your letter to Admissions & Advice staff or Admissions & Advice Ambassadors on your way in to the Vice Principal’s presentation about what you can expect from LSC in terms of resources, facilities, achievement etc. and our expectations of students.
You are then led to an area to await your interview, have a talk about your study programme and predicted grades and receive your provisional offer certificate. You can ask us any question you have about our courses, enrichment, atmosphere – anything – during this exchange.
Do I need to bring anything?
You will be instructed individually, in your interview invitation letter, as to anything you are required to bring with you. But please ensure you bring your invitation letter!
I can’t attend my interview appointment – what do I do?
The most important thing is to inform us. Contact the department by phone or email as far in advance as possible - and preferably not on the day of interview if you can - and we will arrange another interview date for you.
If you miss appointments and we are not informed, this may result in your application being withdrawn.
My friend had to come back for a second interview. Will I?
If you change your mind about what you want to do on the day of your interview, you may be unable to present work you have done related to the new course choice, or prepare for the audition that is required for some subjects, at such short notice. In this instance, we invite you back for a second interview, but if we can avoid it, we will.
Can parents/guardians attend?
Parents/ Guardians are welcome to attend the interview with you but this is not mandatory.
