What is the course about?
This is an art and design-based course that specialises in awareness of, and practices in, graphic design.

Exam board: EDEXCEL

Duration of course: This is a two year linear A level, but students will be entered for the AS qualification as well in the first year.

What units/topics will be studied?
The first year explores broad areas of graphic design, including typography, illustration, layout, advertising and digital computer-aided design. The second year allows you to specialise according to talent and interest.

You will study a personal investigation unit and an externally set (exam) unit each year. The second year you will also do a written study.

You can progress onto a Foundation Diploma course or a degree in a range of art-based subjects, and careers in design including advertising, animation, illustration and multimedia web design.
