Core Maths is a new set of Level 3 qualifications for students who have already achieved a grade 5 or higher in GCSE Maths and English and who want to continue studying maths to support their vocational subject or A Levels.

OCR (Mei) Level 3 in Quantitative reasoning – which complements Vocational courses and OCR (Mei) Level 3 in Quantitative Problem solving – which complements A Level courses

The courses focus on using and applying mathematics to solve everyday problems you will meet in other subjects, in the workplace and at university. It is a course that makes extensive use of spreadsheets and will teach you EXCEL skills to use in your future career, as well as improving and advancing your maths skills. Core Maths is taught over two years, is worth the same UCAS points as an AS Level, and is assessed by two end of course exams. It is also supported by an extensive online course.

You need to be on a Level 3 Programme with a grade 5 in GCSE Maths and a grade 5 in GCSE English to study this course.
