Leyton Sixth Form College has achieved another year of outstanding A level results.
Students are celebrating an A level pass rate of 98% with two-thirds of those passes at the highest (A-C) grades possible.
21 A2 subjects saw a 100% pass rate including Art, English Language and Literature, Photography, Business Studies, 3D Design, French, Spanish, Performance Studies, Textiles, Further Maths, Applied Science, Graphics, Media Studies and Music.
Students on advanced vocational courses did no less well. All BTEC National Diploma courses achieved a 100% pass rate with over 76% of students obtaining the highest possible grades.
Principal Kevin Watson said: “It is with a customary sense of pleasure and relief that I can report another highly successful set of examination results at Leyton Sixth Form College. Our A2 pass rate reached 98% with no failures at all in 21 subjects and many tremendous individual performances.
“Equally impressively, all 176 students on BTEC National Diploma programmes – which range from Art and Design to Information Technology, Business to Performing Arts – were successful.
“These results owe everything to the talents and hard work of our students and to the commitment and dedication of the staff who have guided and supported them. The task of continuing to raise standards from such a high base will be more challenging than ever next year!”
Presented jointly by students from Leyton Sixth College, and those from local schools who are participating in the 'In the Spotlight' project, this event will showcase student work in various styles, from classical music to pop and RnB.
