LSC students celebrate their win
Students from Leyton Sixth Form College competed against 16 other schools & colleges across London and went through to the final against Sutton Grammar School.
The team was commended throughout for their excellent preparation and performances. One Judge, Her Honour Judge Robinson said she’d been judging the competition for several years now and was extremely impressed with the standard of LSC’s team. She commended Rubel Miah’s opening speech for the defence as ‘fantastic’ and said that Hameedat Rashid’s performance as the defendant in a robbery case was ‘the most convincing she’d seen all day’. Our clerk, Solomon Kuti, was praised for the ‘impeccable’ way he looked after the judge.
LSC returned triumphant with the London Finalist Shield and each student received a certificate and a Waterstones voucher.
Law teachers Judith Wilson and Jina Patel, who coached the team, are immensely proud of the team’s hard work, dedication and polished performances. LSC will now compete in the National Final at the Old Bailey in March 2012.
