Detail: A story of three youths' plight against discrimination within the ghettos of Paris.

Film Screening: La Haine

This film focuses on a single day in the lives of three friends in their early twenties from immigrant families living in an impoverished multi-ethnic French housing project  (a ZUP - zone d’urbanisation prioritaire) in the suburbs of Paris, in the aftermath of a riot. The title derives from a line spoken by one of them, Hubert:”La haine attire la haine!”, “hatred breeds hatred.”

Guest Speaker

Ian Claussen teacher of French and Philosophy at Leyton Sixth Form College, Ian has seen this film more than 20 times and now shares his passion for it with his students as it is part of their A level programme.
