£40M Building Project

As the £40M building programme nears completion, more and more students have been able to access our fantastic new facilities. The brand new state of the art theatre has been the venue for a wide range of high quality drama and musical performances. Final touches are taking place in the installation of all the equipment in the purpose built TV studio which will be a fantastic resource for both Leyton students and local schools.

A superb new sports hall and fitness suite have seen a large rise in student and staff participation in sport as well as providing excellent opportunities for local schools and community groups.

The “street” which now links all college buildings has also proved to be popular with events as varied as a world food day and the Higher Education fair taking place in it.

The last phase of the project involved a large extension to the existing Meridian House and the complete refurbishment of the original college building. The extension houses the Business, Travel and Care departments as well as providing outstanding new facilities for Art & Design. The refurbished building has provided an excellent new library as well as a large drop-in I.T. centre and refurbished Science and Maths areas.

With all the building work completed by December and the field reinstated in the Spring, every student, both current and future can look forward to being at the best equipped colleges in the country.
