Media students from Leyton Sixth Form went to ITV studios to participate in the studio audience of the new game show “Babushka”, hosting by celebrity Rylan Clark-Neal.

This new show, due to start daily broadcast on ITV1 in May, was both fun and educational.  Students got to see how a live show is put together, including shooting, lights, set design, vision and sound mixing, the roles of production staff,  and the pressures and excitements involved in the production of a busy television show.  Rylan was bubbly and friendly and took time to speak to LSC students, whom he praised for their enthusiasm.  Students had great fun and the trip is useful research for the A2 Media Critical Approaches unit, and for the BTEC multi-camera unit.  After the visit had the chance to take in the sights and cultural institutions of the South Bank including the London Eye and the National Film Theatre.
